AirAsia has resumed flights between Kuala Lumpur
and Tianjin, following the temporary suspension of its services in
November 2009.
The service resumes with a five-time weekly service, on a more economical
aircraft - the Airbus A330 with two-class configuration of 28
premium seats and 355 economy seats.
The change of aircraft from the previous Airbus
A340 with a total of 30 premium and 256 economy seats used before
the suspension proves more economical with 34% increase in
capacity.
Ms. Kathleen Tan, Regional Head
of Commercial of AirAsia Group said, “The Kuala Lumpur - Tianjin
route was launched in April 2009, servicing direct flights to
Tianjin as part of AirAsia’s strategic expansion plans in North
China. With a more economical A330 aircraft, combined with a
better flight schedule, AirAsia will now offer its guests
convenient ground transport access to connect from Tianjin to the
Chinese capital Beijing and its other attractive neighbouring
cities. The recommencement of the route is also timely with the
upcoming Chinese New Year where guests would be able to reconnect
with their families and relatives or even take a short holiday.”
To commemorate the relaunch, AirAsia is offering special
online fares from as low as RM249 (all-in-fare) one way until 16
February 2010, for travel between 22 February to 31 May 2010.
