Jumeirah, a Dubai-based luxury hospitality
company and member of Dubai Holding, has appointed Fernando Gibaja
as General Manager of Jumeirah Port Soller on the island of
Mallorca, Spain.
Fernando Gibaja, a Spanish citizen, joins
Jumeirah from the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya in Mexico, before
which he ran the Aqua Cancun Hotel & Resort.
His career from
1994-2007 was with the Ritz-Carlton Group in a wide range of roles
in hotels in the USA, Spain, Turkey, Mexico and Singapore.
As General Manager of Jumeirah Port Soller, Fernando Gibaja will
be running one of the most luxurious resorts on Mallorca,
consisting of 92 elegantly appointed rooms and a further 25 suites
with spectacular views over the Balearic Sea, 4 restaurants, a
Talise spa and three pools. The property is expected to open in
2011.
Fernando Gibaja has a masters degree in hotel
management from the Universidad Politecnica, Madrid, as well as a
BSc in Business Administation from the Escuela Superior de
Hosteleria y Turismo, Madrid.
