[HD video below] VisitBritain
has launched its e-learning programme, the BritAgent Specialist
Programme, in Thailand.
The programme is
designed to provide specialized training to travel agents, helping them to develop their knowledge of Britains offerings and
equipping them with the necessary skills to sell Britain more effectively.
One key benefit of the system is that it will help
travel agents in Thailand gain the specialised knowledge to cater
to the volume of tourists expected to travel to
Britain in the lead up to, and during, the London 2012 Olympic and
Paralympics Games.
Travel agents play a crucial role in
assisting our visitors to plan and book their Britain holiday. By
launching the BritAgent Specialist Programme in Thailand, we are
able to provide travel agents the necessary tools to offer
improved service to our Britain customers, and take advantage of
the increased visitor potential in the lead up to the Olympics,
said Sumathi Ramanathan, Manager Australasia and SE Asia - Visit
Britain.
BritAgent is designed to be completed at the participants own
pace. It is provided free of charge and is completely
accessible online. It provides agents various facts and figures
about Britain, travel tips and advice, as well as techniques to
properly market and match destinations according to travelers
preferences and personalities. Once they have completed the
program, the agent is awarded BritAgent status. Their travel
agencies also receive Preferred Agency Status with VisitBritain.
The BritAgent programme was first launched in
Singapore and Malaysia in 2009 and a new programme - Business
Visits and Events - will be launched in those two markets early
2011. Watch the video below, which was filmed on 2 September 2010,
