Tiger Airways Singapore has commenced trials in
cargo handling services between Singapore and five of its existing
destinations – Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Penang.
Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director of Tiger Airways
Singapore, said, “The addition of cargo services will create an
additional source of ancillary revenue. It is part of our strategy
to increase our aircraft capacity utilisation and route
profitability without compromising safety, security and
punctuality.
“The trials will help us observe and finetune
our cargo operations, before a larger scale implementation across
our network,” Ms. Tay added. “Within five years of its birth,
Tiger has expanded its territory to 33 destinations in the region.
Having carried over 11 million passengers, the cub has grown into
a big cat and is now ready to carry cargo as well. I am delighted
that our paw print has grown in so many ways across the region.”
