Centara Opens Sales Office in India

Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts has opened a sales representative office in India.

The new office, which is located in Chandigarh and headed by Ms Nainee Garg, joins Centara's four existing overseas offices in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong and China.

"We are delighted to add India to our growing global sales support structure," said Chris Bailey, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing. "We have seen a strong growth in the number of Indian guests staying in our hotels and resorts over the past two years, and we believe this is the right time to invest further in this market, which we are convinced has a very large potential."

Centara Hotels and Resorts currently operates a chain of 26 hotels and resorts throughout Thailand, with the properties being either self-owned or managed under contract, and a further 10 are at present under development. In addition 5 resorts have been added in international destinations, totalling 41 properties.
