[HD videos below] The Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, is to enhance
the golf experience with the use of GPS technology.
The club will install Global Golf GPS’ state-of-the-art Inforemer Golf Management System on
the 18-hole award winning golf course by 1 January 2011.
Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin, is part of a resort
and residential development comprising of
200 Villas
and also has condominiums for sale. Banyan Resort is
located just 15-minutes from the centre of town.
Stacey Walton, General Manager at Banyan Golf
Club, Hua Hin said, “Not only will the GPS system enhance the
golfing experience for our members and guests which will be
available in 5-different languages at a press of a button
(English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Thai) but its commercial
value to our development is significant. The system has been
installed in some of the best golf courses in Asia such as Sentosa,
Marina Bay, Sheshan and KLGCC which is important for our brand
association and reciprocal advertising opportunities of our real
estate. I am confident that this technology will provide great
exposure for Banyan Village, Resort and Golf across Asia and
China ... GPS technology has advanced much more with its Wi-Fi
network; the Fire at the Flag competition, the Hammerhead portable
management tool and the installation of tracking devices on our
golf course machinery makes this a management solution that will
enhance financial returns in virtually every area of our
business.”
Stuart Daly, Director of Operations of Banyan
Golf Club, Hua Hin added, “When we were instigating the
possibility of installing the GPS system I was faced with the
opinion that it’s not necessary as we have skilled caddies. I am
very confident that combining GPS technology with excellent caddie
service will take our golf experience to a whole new level. We can
now focus caddie training on green reading and provide golfers
with greater hospitality to add to their comfort and enjoyment.
Not only this, the GPS system is equipped with an emergency call
out system, on screen food and beverage ordering and live scoring
in the tournament module, plus much more such as personalizing the
screen for corporate golf days with company logos and their
sponsors. GPS will also support course management as we will be
able to monitor and track pace of play easier and send messages to
individual golf carts.”
The Banyan Golf Experience
is priced at THB 3,600 until 30 April 2011, and includes green fee, golf
cart with GPS and caddie.
