The Wall Street Journal, one of the world's
leading business publications, has joined the Corporate Membership
Program at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration (SHA) at the
president level. The company will provide financial support for
the school's research activities and key industry events through
2013.
"The Cornell School of Hotel
Administration is where the future leaders in the hospitality
industry are developed," said Brian Miller, executive director of
education and amenity sales at the Wall Street Journal. "Cornell's
alumni, students, and faculty help shape the industry, and the
Wall Street Journal is proud to be part of the Corporate
Membership Program."
Under the agreement, the Wall Street
Journal will become a friend of the Center for Hospitality
Research (CHR), supporting studies by CHR Research Fellows and
student researchers. The company will also be a sponsor of the
Cornell Icon of the Industry Awards Dinner, a gala event that
honors outstanding hospitality industry leaders and raises funds
for SHA scholarships and programs, as well as sponsor two editions
of the Dean's Leadership Series, a forum where academic and
industry leaders address the pressing hospitality industry issues
of the day.
