Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has launched its
Wyndham Event Rewards program in China, offering up to one million
Wyndham Rewards frequent traveler points to meeting professionals
who book events at any of its Wyndham properties globally, as well
as double rewards for events booked and held at any of the brand’s
Wyndham hotels in China.
Meeting planners and travel agents can earn 10
Wyndham Rewards points for each US$1 spent, from a minimum of
US$2,500 to a maximum of US$100,000, on master-billed guest rooms
as well as group food and beverage functions and meeting room
rentals. Earned points, up to one million per event, can be
redeemed for hundreds of gift reward options including hotel
stays, premium entertainment merchandise, vacations and more.
From 1 December 2010, through 28 February 2011, meeting
professionals can earn double reward points through Wyndham Event Rewards – 20 Wyndham Rewards points per US$1 spent – for every
meeting booked in any of the brand’s Wyndham Hotel or Wyndham
Grand Collection locations in China including Shanghai, Hangzhou,
Changsha, Chengdu and Xiamen.
The program has
been expanded in China as a result of the brand’s extensive growth
in the country over the past year. The first Wyndham property in
China, Wyndham Xiamen, opened in 2009. The chain now has six
Wyndham branded properties currently open and another six under
development in China.

Sales Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotel Group. “We want meeting planners
who book Wyndham hotels to have the ability to redeem rewards on a
variety of premium items while planning their events. Now, with
the newly launched Wyndham Event Rewards program in China, we are
able to provide even more value and further reward our customers
with double points for planning their events with us.”
Wyndham Rewards, the brand’s loyalty program,
has more than eight million active members. Wyndham Rewards points
can be redeemed for hotel stays, airline tickets, name-brand
merchandise and dining and shopping gift cards, among other
options. In lieu of points, members may elect to earn airline or
rail miles with a variety of carriers.
Guest room charges must be included on a
master bill to qualify toward the total event purchase. Points
will be awarded based on actual group room nights consumed during
the event, regardless of the contracted amount. Multiday events on
a single contract will constitute a single event for rewards
purposes. Blackout dates and some restrictions may apply.
