Shangri-La Strengthens Sales and Marketing Team

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has appointed Denny Ma as director, global accounts and Hong Kong regional sales office, and Nick Berry as director of sales and marketing in Sydney regional sales office.

Denny held the position of director of sales and marketing at the Hong Kong regional sales office since 2007. With this new appointment, he continues to be in charge of the Hong Kong office and Korea representative office to maximise brand presence and the groups market share in the countries for which he is responsible. He also oversees the management and co-ordination of global accounts.

Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Denny spent 13 years with Marriott International working in senior sales and marketing positions. He started his hospitality career as a food and beverage management trainee at New World Hotels International. Denny holds a Masters degree in eCommerce and Internet Computing, and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Nick was previously the director of sales of the Sydney regional sales office. Prior to his role at the regional sales office, Nick was director of business development of Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney before being promoted to associate director of sales responsible for corporate sales team operation.

Nick joined the group in 2003 as director of business development and was named the Sales and Marketing Employee of the Year at 2009 Australian Hotels Association Awards for Excellence. Prior to joining Shangri-La, Nick was with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and based in Melbourne.
