oneworld alliance partners, Finnair and Japan
Airlines are expanding their cooperation network in Europe from 1
August 2010.
"Finnair is very happy to serve European and
Japanese customers with fast and competitive services between the
respective markets, via Helsinki, together with our partner JAL,"
said Paavo Virkkunen, responsible for Finnair's oneworld alliance
relations.
In August, JAL's flight number will be added on
Finnair's services connecting Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Munich,
Warsaw and Brussels with Helsinki.
JAL and Finnair already have a codeshare
partnership between Helsinki and Finnair's Japanese destinations
Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
With the additional code shares JAL and Finnair
offer enhanced connections between European and Japanese business
cities, via Helsinki.
Finnair and Japan Airlines started their
codeshare cooperation in 2005. With its own flight number, JAL
already offers its customers on Finnair's services between Japan
and Helsinki, between Helsinki and other Scandinavian countries as
well as Frankfurt and Amsterdam.
Japan Airlines joined the oneworld airline
alliance in 2007 and Finnair joined oneworld in 1999, the year
that the alliance was formed.
