Travelport and ATPCO, a leader in the collection
and distribution of sales, fare and fare-related data for the
airline and travel industry, have signed a multi-year technology
services deal.
Through the agreement, ATPCO will enhance its Sales
Data Exchange, which incorporates marketing and settlement
information into a single sales record, using Travelport Fare Verified technology. The integrated solution will create
a tool capable of guaranteeing that ATPCO’s Sales
Data Exchange participating airlines obtain the sales information
necessary to improve the accuracy and efficiency of their revenue
accounting and fare management processes.
ATPCO’s
broader integration of Travelport fare verification technology
will ensure tickets are accurately issued for any airline using
ATPCO’s Industry Sales Record (ISR) and its Sales Data Exchange.
Travelport’s global fares and pricing system will serve as the cornerstone of the
enhanced service offering by authenticating the accuracy of fare
data, rules and taxes across ATPCO’s product line.
ATPCO and Travelport’s fare verification service will also interface with
First & Final Interline Billing Service, an industry solution by
ATPCO, IATA and ARC that automates the process of dividing revenue
between all carriers referenced on an interline ticket. This
integration will ensure airlines using First & Final achieve
accurately prorated interline ticket billing and settlement based
on the true applicable fare.
“Travelport continues
to demonstrate creativity and dedication to helping ATPCO solve
industry-wide issues,” said Rolf Purzer, chief marketing officer
for ATPCO. “Their ticket pricing verification will enhance ATPCO’s
Sales Data Exchange, which, among other things, will drive more
accurate calculations of prorated amounts on interline tickets – a
major advancement for the airline industry that will deliver
uniformity, protect revenues and lower operating costs for
airlines worldwide.”
“ATPCO’s choice to
integrate our patent pending Travelport Fare Verified technology
into their Sales Data Exchange service underscores ATPCO’s
longstanding commitment to improving fare data integrity and
accuracy,” said Kevin Ficco, vice president, Travelport Airline IT
Solutions. “This enhancement will have a dramatic impact on
protecting airline revenues and create a stronger distribution
environment for interline partners, travel agencies, corporations
and consumers.”
