Aston International has opened the Grand Aston City Hall Hotel & Serviced Residences Medan.

Located in the heart of Medan just across the popular Merdeka Walk the hotel features Sumatra’s only acoustically engineered ball room, a top end private executive club, an auditorium, a separate serviced apartment tower and no less than five restaurants, a night club, a shopping arcade, a full service destination spa and the painstakingly restored historic Balai Kota, Medan’s historic turn of the century City Hall, which has been incorporated into the hotel’s grand lobby and is home to a classic European café.

General Manager, Ricky Theodores, said, “Medan is a competitive market so we spared no expense to assure that the Grand Aston stands out. The location by itself is unmatched plus there is no other hotel in Sumatra with a more complete range of facilities. May it be a professional event manager seeking smartly designed and functional conference facilities, a corporation looking for secure apartments for their executives long stay needs or a short stay business traveler accustomed to the highest international standards the Grand Aston will deliver the goods.”

This new 245-room 5-star hotel marks the arrival of the Aston Groups Grand Aston brand in Indonesia. A second Grand Aston is currently under construction in Yogyakarta and is due to open in late 2010. The Aston group also plans to introduce the Grand Aston brand to Jakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Perth.
