Following a restructuring uniting Crystal
Cruises’ Hotel and Marine Operations departments, Crystal has made
the following changes to the luxury line’s operations management
team.
Cruise and Coast Guard veteran Greg MacGarva has
joined Crystal as vice president, marine operations, while
Crystal’s long time director of land programs, John Stoll has been
promoted to vice president, land and port operations.
Gregg
MacGarva joins Crystal with 12 years experience in the cruise industry,
including marine operations, procurement and logistic tenures at
Holland America Line and engineering and purchasing positions at
Cruise West. Prior to the cruise industry, MacGarva served 22
years with the U.S. Coast Guard, including multiple deployments to
Europe, the Caribbean, Arctic and Antarctica as chief engineer and
director of engineering. In his new role with Crystal, he oversees
the newly merged marine and land departments.
John Stoll
joined Crystal in 2003 as director of land programs after more
than two decades in the cruise industry (including stints at
Silversea, Princess and RCCL) and 10 years with Delta Air Lines.
Since then, he’s spearheaded successful efforts to introduce
numerous industry-first Crystal Adventures ashore, as well as
thousands of thrilling, cultural, culinary and environmentally
focused shoreside experiences. In his expanded role, he adds port
operations to his department responsibilities.
Also, as part of a sales
restructuring plan, Crystal Cruises has made the following changed
to its sales department:
- Person Garcia, national director of business
development and group sales will take on the additional role of
director of sales, western region. Garcia has been with Crystal
since 2003, initially serving the Los Angeles area as district
sales manager;
- Debbie Doty becomes district sales manager
for the greater San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, Santa Barbara
County, Kern County, Glendale/Pasadena, and Bakersfield. Since
2003, Doty has served as manager, sales administration and
incentive sales;
- Hedwige Roessler becomes manager, sales
administration and incentive sales. Roessler joined Crystal in
2004, and most recently served as manager, national accounts; and
- Rachel Woodward becomes manager, national accounts.
Woodward comes to the position from Crystal’s marketing
department, which she joined in 2005.
“We are proud to
build on what is already a strong sales team with veterans who
have the knowledge of Crystal’s attention to detail and the
Six-Star attitude to support Crystal’s long term vision – to be
the best in the luxury service business,” said Eric Graves,
Crystal Cruises’ vice president, field sales. “In their
new roles, they will be able to further serve as indispensable
resources for our valued travel agent partners.”
