Hospitality Financial and Technology
Professionals (HFTP), producers of Hospitality Industry Technology
Exposition and Conference (HITEC), is launching a new conference,
the Asian Hospitality Technology Education Conference
(AHTEC@HOFEX).
The new conference is designed to deliver to the
Asian hospitality industry a direct vehicle for expert
perspectives on the evolving technology market.
The conference
will be in conjunction with HOFEX, produced by Hong Kong
Exhibition Services, which has a specialized technology
area within its exposition that complements the conference.
AHTEC@HOFEX will take place 11-12 May 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention
& Exhibition Centre.
“HFTP, which has produced HITEC for
38 years, brings to HOFEX an established network and the resources
for a valuable educational experience to the Asian hospitality
market,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP.
Daniel Cheung, General Manager of HKES, added, “We see the
growing demand for technology associated with rapidly blooming
hospitality industry in Asia. Our partnership with HFTP, together
with our specialized Hospitality IT exhibition, is a significant
step to help hotels, restaurants, membership clubs, bars etc. to
move forward and facilitate smooth operations in their growing
business.”
HFTP will form an international Advisory Council to select the
education program for the conference, with a focus on hospitality technology issues important to the region. The council is chaired
by Terence Ronson, managing director of Pertlink Limited, based in Hong Kong.
HFTP previously extended its hospitality
technology education programming outside of the United Stated in
2007 with the European Hospitality Technology Educational
Conference (EHTEC). A biannual event with a European perspective
on hospitality technology, the next EHTEC is scheduled for early
2012.
