Aloysius Arlando joins Singex Venues as CEO

The Singex Group has appointed Aloysius Arlando as Chief Executive Officer of its flagship company, Singex Venues Pte Ltd, in which role he will oversee the operations of Singex Group.

Mr Arlando, 42, will assume his post on Thursday, 1 April 2010. He has a wealth of experience in the tourism and MICE business, as well as the government sector, having built a career that spans 17 years in these areas. In particular, through his recent appointments as Assistant Chief Executive (Business Travel & MICE) of Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and as Executive Director of APEC Organising Committee, Ministry of Trade & Industry, he has been instrumental in strengthening Singapore’s MICE business and global profile.

Prior to these roles, Mr Arlando held key appointments in STB as its Regional Director for ASEAN markets and Director of Business Travel & MICE. He also served for two-and-a-half years in the Ministry of Manpower, where he was responsible for the promotion of lifelong learning and workforce development programmes.

My experience and industry network will provide added impetus to my role at Singex, as I work with the Group to grow Singapore Expo into a key business tourism player and position Singapore Expo for greater success in the international MICE arena,” said Mr Arlando. “I am happy to accept this appointment. More importantly, I am honored to be handed the ownership of the vision of Singapore Expo to continue its run as the Pre-eminent Convention and Exhibition Centre in Asia.”
