Rezidor Qualifies for OMX GES Sustainability Nordic and Sweden Indexes

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Friday, 16 July 2010

The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, is now included in both the OMX GES Sustainability Nordic Index and the OMX GES Sustainability Sweden Index.

The Nordic Sustainability Index highlights the 50 best rated companies on the Nordic exchanges, while the Sweden Index comprises the 30 best rated on the Stockholm exchange. Thus the indexes identify the leading companies in terms of sustainability based on how well they meet criteria for environmental, social and governance issues.

“We are delighted that our pledge to build a responsible and sustainable company has been recognised with a place in these two indexes,” said Kurt Ritter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rezidor. “We firmly believe in monitoring not just the bottom line but the triple bottom line of environmental, social and economic performance and are proud of our success in balancing these three equally important elements.”

Analysts at GES Investment Services chose to include Rezidor as a result of its long-standing Responsible Business programme which covers issues such as health and well-being of guest and employees, resource efficiency relating to energy, water and waste, community outreach, cultural heritage and charity. The company has received external verification for its efforts through countless awards and eco-labels as well as recognitions including its recent naming as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies, all the while growing the business.
