The French private airline Aigle Azur has taken
delivery of its first directly purchased brand new Airbus A319.
The new aircraft, powered by CFM-56 engines, joins Aigle Azur's fleet of ten A320 Family
aircraft, comprising three A319s, three A320s and four A321s.
The new A319 has been fitted with a spacious two
class cabin layout for 144 passengers.
Founded in 1946, Aigle
Azur is the longest established private French airline. The
company became an Airbus operator in 2003 and since 2005, Aigle
Azur has operated an all Airbus fleet. Aigle Azur carries passengers to major
tourist destinations in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean basin
and Northern and Western Africa.
"The delivery of
this brand new aircraft highlights our fleet upgrading strategy
which enables us to offer our passengers the highest levels of
comfort and services" said Arezki Idjerouidene, President of Aigle
Azur. "With an all A320 Family fleet we benefit from savings in
every element of direct operating costs and from the highest
degree of operational commonality."
