All Garuda Indonesia flights to and from cities
within and outside of Indonesia are currently operating as normal
except for flights to and from Yogjakarta.
Due to the eruption of
Mount Merapi, Indonesian aviation authorities have issued a
"NOTAM" - notice to airman - stating that the Adi Sucipto airport,
Yogyakarta is declared "closed" until today, 15 November 2010 - no
operational or flight activities conducted to or from Yogjakarta.
In connection with the temporary closing of Adi Sucipto
Airport, Yogjakarta, Garuda Indonesia
suspended its service to and from Yogjakarta for that period of
time.
However, all other Garuda Indonesia flights
mainly from two main hubs - Jakarta and Denpasar are operating as
normal.
Garuda currently flies to all of the capital
provinces in Indonesia, except for the city of Bengkulu in
Sumatera and Gorontalo in the north of Sulawesi. Internationally, Garuda serves destinations in Europe, Australia, Japan,
China, Middle East as well as key cities across the region.
