The Oriental Residence Bangkok, the inaugural
property for the newly-announced luxury hotel brand Saffron, has
appointed established Bangkok hotelier Patrick Schaub in the role
of General Manager.
Prior to taking on this role, Schaub was Hotel
Manager at the Plaza Athenee Hotel, Bangkok. In a career that
spans more than 16 years, he has held various senior positions in
food and beverage management in numerous international
destinations, including Switzerland and the USA.
Schaub joined the hotel industry in 1994 when he
took on a supervisory role in the food and beverage department of
a leading hotel in his native Switzerland. He later worked in the
United States with such international hotel groups as The Regent.
He then decided to broaden his international
expertise by moving to Thailand to join The Peninsula Bangkok
before then moving to the Westin Grande Sukhumvit, also in
Bangkok. In his various roles, Schaub has spearheaded strategic
revenue management initiatives and been an integral team member of
hotel re-branding and pre-opening projects.
The Oriental Residence Bangkok is scheduled to
open mid-2011.
Set within an iconic 32 storey building located
on Wireless Road, a well-known area in downtown Bangkok, the property will feature 145 serviced
apartments within a mixed use development that will also house 47
privately owned condominiums on the upper floors of the building.
