Continental Airlines has signed on as an
official sponsor of Red Bull New York and Red Bull Arena - the
teams new 25,000-seat stadium in Harrison, N.J.. Continental
Airlines will also be the teams exclusive airline sponsor.
In addition to traditional sponsorship
elements, the agreement includes joint marketing fan promotions
and access to a variety of exclusive Red Bull experiences made
available to OnePass members on the Continental Airlines OnePass
Auction website.
The New York Red Bulls is one of 16 teams that
comprise the top-flight professional soccer league in the United
States Major League Soccer. On the pitch, the team is led by
captain Juan Pablo Angel, a former Premiership striker and
finalist for the 2007 Leagues Most Valuable Player award, and new
head coach Hans Backe.
The team recently kicked off its first
season at their new home, Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J.. The
25,000-seat stadium features a dynamic form roof that covers all
of the seating and features 30 Skyboxes, three premium clubs, two
retail outlets and a Kentucky Bluegrass field. Red Bull Arena is
privately funded stadium and owned by Red Bull GmbH, an Austrian
company that produces the famous energy drink.
Mark Bergsrud, Continentals senior vice
president of marketing programs and distribution said, The
sponsorship will enable us to build upon our existing promotional
activities within the community. Their impressive new facility
offers a great environment to talk more directly to our core
customers about our product and extensive service out of the New
York area.
