The Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong and
Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong have together launched the “A” hamper, a
Mercedes-Benz A 160 filled with premium Island Shangri-La festive
items.
Valued at HK$235,000, the initiative is
designed to encourage
a conscientious Christmas, and to raise funds for the charity organisation, Heep Hong Society.
Guests who donate HK$100
will receive a raffle ticket and an opportunity to drive home a
Mercedes-Benz A 160. Other prizes include weekend stays in the
hotel’s suites with dinner at either the Michelin
two-star Restaurant Petrus or Lobster Bar and Grill.
Raffle
tickets are available at the festive ticket counter on level six
of the hotel, and in all of the hotel’s restaurants until 2 January 2011. The raffle ticket draw will take place on 3
January 2011.
Speaking of the clever initiative,
Mr. Darren Gearing vice president and general manager of Island
Shangri-La said, “We are very grateful to Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong
and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Claus Weidner for their eagerness
and support of this project. We hope to surpass last year’s
HK$400,000 donation to Heep Hong Society, in order to provide much
needed training facilities for autistic children, as well as
children who are physically or mentally challenged.”
Dr. Claus Weidner, Chief Operating Officer of Mercedes-Benz Hong
Kong, added, “At Mercedes-Benz, we strive to provide our
customers with world-class products and services, and we see the
same value in Island Shangri-La. We are very glad to see these two
well-known brands working together for the very first time on this
meaningful event, which contributes back to the society.”
