Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Thursday, 11 February 2010

Parrot Cay, in the Turks and Caicos, is organising a weekend retreat of specialist Pilates tuition focused on various props for the exercise regime.

The ‘Pilates Props Weekend’ is being led by the resort’s resident Pilates teacher Lynda Lippin from 11-15 March 2010.

Over the weekend, daily group sessions will focus on props that extend the flow and power of traditional Pilates mat exercises – including the large exercise ball, small ball, foam roller, band and Pilates ‘magic circle’.

Three or four-night accommodation packages are available, including five hours of Pilates tuition daily, and all meals from a specially prepared COMO Shambhala Retreat Menu and airport transfers, priced at US$3,236++ / US$4,255++ per guest.

Parrot Cay is part of the luxury hospitality brand COMO Hotels & Resorts, and is the Caribbean showcase for the group’s COMO Shambhala Retreat healthy living concept.

The beach-style retreat is considered among the world’s leading destinations for wellness and holistic treatments, with exceptional facilities for both Pilates and yoga, and tuition by internationally renowned instructors.

Pilates teacher Lynda Lippin is based at Parrot Cay as COMO Shambhala Retreat's resident Pilates instructor. Widely respected for her nurturing style, she has been practicing and teaching Pilates for over 20 years. Lynda previously owned and operated award winning Pilates studios in the US and trains Pilates teachers for the Pilates PhysicalMind Institute. She is also an accomplished fitness trainer, certified by the American Council of Exercise.
