Abu Dhabi Airport Organises Ramadan Football Tournament

Abu Dhabi Airports Company is organising an Abu Dhabi International Airport Ramadan Football tournament for its subsidiaries and stakeholders.

The tournament will run from the 15th till the 31st of August 2010 with 16 teams of eight players competing for first place. The tournament will be held at the stadium of Ports and Airports Security Police Department at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The teams include: the Presidential Flight, Customs, Ports & Airports Security Police Department, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jet, and Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, SCADIA, as well as teams from ADAC and its subsidiaries.

The winning team will receive the first prize of AED 15,000, while teams that finish second and third will receive AED 10,000 and AED 5,000 respectively. Medals will also be distributed to various players and there will be special prizes for the best goalkeeper and scorer.

The first game on 15th August will be between SCADIA and ADAC’s Fire Fighters, with the quarter final to take place on 25th, semi final on 29th, and the final game will be on 31st August.

ADAC has organized similar games for its employees during Ramadan in the last two years, however, this year the company decided to invite participants from all of its subsidiaries and stakeholders from airline companies and government agencies to join the tournament for the first time.

Staff and their families from all playing companies can enjoy the game within an air conditioned tent with food and beverages served throughout the games.
