Punam Mohandas to join PATA as Director of Communications

PATA has appointed Mrs Punam Mohandas as its new Director – Communications, replacing Dale Lawrence who leaves PATA in mid June.

 Punam is a senior journalist with 17-years experience. Her most recent assignment was as Editor of Hotelier India magazine. She spent almost four years in Dubai with the Khaleej Times and subsequently, as Editor of The Big Project magazine.

 She has also been a coordinating Editor with the Times of India, New Delhi and has penned weekly columns for The Hindustan Times, The Statesman, the Times of India Kolkata and the Delhi Midday.

Punam also has a hospitality background, having been associated with both the Oberoi and Taj Groups. She was Sales Manager with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, heading the regional sales office out of Pune. With the Taj Group she handled public relations for the city of Hyderabad. She is a former Director - Media Relations with Dubai PR agency Concept PR.

Punam will relocate to Bangkok in early July.
