[HD videos below] The recently opened InterContinental Hua Hin
Resort is hosting one of Asia’s first-ever major professional kiteboarding tournaments, and what organisers
hope will become an annual event.
The “Hua Hin Kiteboarding World Cup 2010 at
InterContinental Hua Hin Resort” will be
officially launched on 13 March 2010 with a speech by Suwat
Liptapanlop, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Weera
Sriwathanatrakoon, Governor of Prachuap Khirikhan - the province
where Hua Hin is located.
The event is not just about intense moves and
competition, there will also be after parties every night hosted by well-known
DJs such as DJ Montonn Jira, DJ Seeds, DJ Suharit Siamwalla and
even DJ Splitloop from the UK.

The regional qualifier will be held 11-13 March and
from there, those that qualify will register on 14 March in order to pass to
the professional round on 15-20 March at Hua Hin beach.
The
competition will have two categories of judgment;
free style and speed. The season-opener for the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA) – will feature freestyle,
course-riding and sliders disciplines in a competition which is sure to
delight spectators.

Gisela Pulido is just 16 years old and yet, this
amazing young lady, has already won no fewer than 6 world champion
titles. Her first came when she was just 10, taking the
kiteboarding world by storm. In Hua Hin she was (at the time of
this interview) heading the freestyle leader board.

Hua Hin Kiteboarding World Cup 2010 on the morning of
the final day, 20 March 2010. The interview was taken on
the beach outside the InterContinental Hua Hin Resort
and it should be noted that the buildings in the
background are NOT the InterContinental which is a
luxurious low rise property.
So what has been happening at the Hua Hin
Kiteboarding World Cup? On 19 March 2010 we spoke with Todd
Schoenberger, the event manager, to learn all the latest.
Bruna Kajiya, the current world champion, is
competing in the Hua Hin Kiteboarding World Cup 2010. ASIA Travel
Tips.com speaks with her before the double elimination to see what
she thinks her chances are, who the main competition is and also a
little about what she thinks of the wind in Thailand as well as
the country, food and culture in general.
The conditions in Hua Hin could not be better
for the Hua Hin Kiteboarding World Cup 2010 at the new and
luxurious InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. As you can see from
this brief teaser video, the wind is blowing, the sun shining and
the boards are out. The first two days on 13 and 14 March 2010 are
the local qualifiers. The main competition begins on Monday, 15
