Sheraton’s search for Asia Pacific’s Top Workaholics
has come to an end with the Starwood brand naming Rachel Zhang from
China and Yen Ven Tee from Malaysia as the Top Workaholics in the
region. Rachel and Yen Ven each earn an all paid vacation to a Sheraton
resort of their choice.
Vincent Ong, Brand
Director for Sheraton and Westin, Asia Pacific, claimed the
company received over 30,000 votes for the various submissions. He
said,
“Yen Ven and Rachel stood out among all participants because of
their ability to convince the public how passionate they are to
their work and their continuous quest for work and life balance.”
Rachel won 30% of the total number of votes whilst Yen Ven won 20%.
Rachel Zhang, commented on her victory, saying, “I
must thank my friends and supporters for their votes during the
period of the competition. This competition really caught my eye
when I first got to know about it because it is such a creative
and fun way to send out a strong message about work and life
balance. This reward will really be a trip of a lifetime for me
and I look forward to connecting with my friends and family on
this trip!”
Yan Ven added, “I am really thrilled to be the
winner of this competition! My work takes up 90% of my time, and
while I really enjoy what I do, this competition has given me a
reason to reward myself and remind myself of balancing my work and
social life.”
To join the contest, participants were simply
required to submit a write-up describing why they think they are
one of Asia Pacific’s top workaholics. This entry was then posted
to a blog and made available for public viewing and voting.
Participants may also supplement this initial submission with
added blog entries, while encouraging family and friends, and of
course, convincing the public to vote for their submission.
