Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts has
signed a management contract with Theeppipat Development for its
first Centara Boutique Collection branded property.
The Siripanna Villa Resort Chiang Mai,
which will have 76 guestrooms, is located in Chiang Mai city
centre. The new property is scheduled to soft-open in September
2009.
Centara Hotels & Resorts president Gerd Steeb
said that the launch of the Centara Boutique Collection brand is
part of the group’s strategy to expand and diversify in Thailand
and internationally.
“Our Boutique Collection
properties aim to provide high-quality personal service in a
setting that is on a more intimate scale than the other brands
within the group,” he said.
“Typically, the hotel will have
between 70 and 100 rooms, with a high proportion of the rooms
being premium accommodation.”
Located adjacent to the Gymkhana Golf Course, the
hotel is 1 km from the railway station, 2.5 km from the Night
Bazaar, and 6 km from Chiang Mai International Airport.
The 76 guestrooms at the resort will include 48 Deluxe Lanna rooms,
8 Premium
Deluxe Lanna Club rooms, 2 Premium Deluxe Garden Sala Club
rooms, 16 luxury Lanna Club Villas and 2 Royal Sala Spa Suites.
Room sizes range from a spacious 40 sqm to 70 sqm, with
balconies or terraces from 9 to 173 sqm.
Centara Club access will be available to all but the Deluxe Lanna room type, offering Centara’s signature Club service of five
daily food presentations and evening cocktail reception.
The all-day dining restaurant is housed inside a
traditional Thai house in the garden and will offer international
and Thai cuisine in a Lanna setting. There will be 120 seats, with
indoor and outdoor dining optional. The lounge area will serve
refreshments and have seats for 30 people, and a poolside bar
service will be available during the daytime. In-room dining will
be available 24 hours daily with a selection of international and
Asian favourites.
Recreation facilities include the
Royal Spa Cenvaree, a fitness club, a 300 sqm swimming pool with 60
sun beds, a library and an internet lounge.
The resort will also feature a fully
equipped meeting room for 10-200 persons. Tailor-made
events for up to 200 people can be held in the
traditional Thai house. In addition, the extensive lawn
will provide an outside venue for up to 500 guests.
Centara Hotels and
Resorts which currently operates 23 luxury hotels and resorts in
major tourist destinations throughout Thailand and Asia,
is aiming to have a total of 65 properties within the
next five years.
