Hans Hordijk has been appointed General Manager
of the new 222-room Fairmont Beijing.
The role marks a milestone for the hotelier,
whose passion for hotels has resulted in an impressive career
spanning over twenty years.
Hans started his training after obtaining
a Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management from the Hotel Management
School, The Hague and continued this academic success with an
Executive MBA from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management.
From his first role in the United Kingdom at the
London Hilton, to several positions with The Dorchester London,
Hans continued to gain extensive experience through a series of
roles throughout Asia with The Peninsula Group, ranging from Food
and Beverage Manager at The Peninsula Hong Kong to Resident
Manager of the Peninsula Bangkok.
In 2007, Hans was appointed General Manager of
The Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur, India where he was responsible for
the daily operation of the hotel. He held that position until 2008
when he joined the Boyd Gaming Corporation in his most recent
position as Vice President - Echelon Las Vegas and was part of the
$5 billion development of 5 hotels, totaling 5000 rooms.
