Qatar Airways is to expand its operations in
Switzerland by adding an extra flight on the Doha-Zurich route
from 25 October 2009.
The addition of a Saturday departure out of
Zurich promises to be a popular flight among Swiss holidaymakers
heading to foreign leisure destinations.
The Doha-Zurich route is operated with a
state-of-the-art Airbus A330, in a two-class cabin configuration
and features 24 seats in Business Class and 236 Economy Class
seats.
Passengers looking to travel to Zurich will have
more choice with the additional frequency adding further
convenience and flexibility to their travel plans. Although the
route is strongly frequented by business travellers, Zurich is
also famous among leisure travellers visiting the beautifully
located city close to the Swiss Alps and Lake Zurich.
The Zurich upgrade follows recent announcements
that the airline’s Doha–Paris service will operate twice daily
from October. Additional flights to Madrid, Athens and Stockholm
will see a near 40% increase in frequency across the four cities
later this year.
Qatar Airways also operates five-flights-a-week
to Geneva, its second Swiss destination, launched in June 2007.
