Continental Airlines is to resume daily, non-stop
seasonal services between its New York hub at Newark Liberty
International Airport and Athens, Greece, effective May 2, 2009
(eastbound).
“Greece is an important market for Continental,
for both business and leisure traffic,” said Jim Compton, Continental’s executive vice president marketing. “We look forward
to again offering seasonal service to Athens for travelers
from throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America with
convenient connections via our New York hub.”
The service
will operate through September 7, 2009 (eastbound). The flights will
depart New York Liberty daily at 5:30 p.m., arriving in
Athens at 10:20 a.m. the following day. The return flights
will depart Athens daily at 12:00 p.m., arriving at New York
Liberty at 4:10 p.m. the same day.
The flights will be
operated by Boeing 767-200ER aircraft, seating 25 passengers in
the award-winning BusinessFirst cabin and 149 in economy.
Continental inaugurated its New York-Athens service in June
2007.
