Virgin Blue has launched daily flights between Perth
and Darwin in Australia.
Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said Virgin
Blue’s decision to fly to the Northern Territory brings more
competition to the route and more choice for Western Australian
travellers.
“The new service by Virgin Blue will bring the
number of airlines servicing the Perth to Darwin route to four and
with most airlines offering some great deals, now is a great time
to fly domestically,” he said.
The new Virgin Blue service from Perth to Darwin
will operate seven days a week from Perth Airport’s Domestic
Terminal 3.
Departing Perth at 11:05 and arriving into
Darwin at 16:25 (local time) the new service offers Western
Australians more flexibility when travelling interstate.
The introduction of the new service comes at a
time when Perth Airport embarks on improvements to the Domestic
Terminals, which includes the streamlining of roads, widening the
forecourt and undercover walkways. Works will commence in May,
with the upgrade completion expected later in the year.
