Marriott has signed a franchise agreement with Monarch
Open Joint Stock Company for the 366-room Renaissance Moscow Monarch
Center. The property will be the seventh hotel in Marriott’s brands
portfolio in the city.
The hotel will be managed by Interstate
Management Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Interstate
Hotels & Resorts, which currently operates three Marriott-branded
hotels in Moscow as well as other Marriott-branded hotels in
Ashbourne, Ireland, and Ghent, Belgium.
The Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center will be
part of a mixed-used development consisting of a separate 38 floor
office tower and a four-floor shopping mall at the intersection of
Moscow’s Third Transportation Ring and Leningradskiy Prospekt, the
main highway linking central Moscow and Sheremetyevo Airport.
Nearby is Dinamo Stadium.
“We are very pleased by the steady growth of our
hotel presence in Moscow and are delighted to welcome the second
Renaissance-branded hotel in the city. We have no doubt that it
will be an important addition to the Moscow hotel scene,
especially among conference attendees,” said Arne Sorenson,
Marriott’s chief financial officer and president of continental
European lodging.
The Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center will offer
a combination of individual guest rooms, suites and apartments
that will feature flat screen televisions, high speed internet
access, plush bed linens and bath amenities, an in-room safe and a
mini-bar.
For dining and entertainment, the hotel will
have a striking lobby bar, a casual restaurant serving three meals
daily and a specialty dining outlet.
For recreation, the hotel will have an indoor
swimming pool and a health and leisure club. Other amenities will
include an executive level and lounge and room service.
For social gatherings and conferences, the
Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center will have 21,500 square feet of
space including a 6,100-square foot ballroom, a 2,800-square foot
main meeting room that will be divisible into two sections; seven
meeting rooms comprising 5,700 square feet in varying
configurations and two boardrooms occupying 2,916 square feet.
Currently, the Marriott International brands
portfolio in Moscow is represented by the Moscow Marriott Grand
Hotel, the Moscow Marriott Tverskaya Hotel, the Moscow Marriott
Royal Aurora Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Moscow, the Renaissance
Moscow and the Courtyard by Marriott City Center.
