Jetstar Asia has launched new daily direct
services to Penang. The Malaysian island is Jetstar’s 17th
destination from Singapore and 4th Malaysian city now served
through its expanding intra Asia network.
The flights operated with A320
aircraft expand Jetstar’s weekly flights between
Singapore and Malaysia to 88 times weekly.
Jetstar also operates to Kuala Lumpur up to three
times daily, Kuching daily and Kota Kinabalu 4 times weekly from
Singapore.
From 1 October 2009 Jetstar services on
the Singapore-Penang route will become double
daily with a total of 14 weekly flights.
Jetstar’s Singapore-Penang all inclusive fares (Jetsaver Light)
are available from Sin$ 48 or RM 95 one way.
“This marks a significant step in expanding tourism between
Singapore and Penang, especially when Jetstar Asia increases to
twice daily flights in October. The additional flight not only
increases commercial opportunities, but also creates more
opportunities for friends and family to visit each other,” said
Yang Amat Berhormat Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang. “We definitely anticipate more Singaporeans
to visit the food city of Malaysia with increased accessibility,
connectivity and attractive low fares.”
