Amadeus is hosting a breakfast seminar in Singapore
next Wednesday 4th March, to offer Corporate Travel Managers insights
into managing corporate travel costs in light of the current economic
climate.
The event is the first in a series of seminars
to take place in Hong Kong and Singapore this year. Delegates will
be able to gather suggestions on ways to increase visibility and
control of travel processes, maximise efficiencies of scale,
minimise paperwork, and cut costs.
According to David Brett, President of Amadeus
Asia Pacific, who will visit Singapore to speak at the seminar,
the event is being held in response to market demand, as
corporations face increasing pressure to reduce travel spending.
“In these current challenging economic times,
all corporations are facing the same tough decisions where
employee travel is concerned. They are asking themselves if they
are doing enough to get the best prices, and seeking ways to
reduce costs. At the same time they realise that they can do more
to streamline their travel processes, but may not know where to
start. Corporations are looking to technology partners like
Amadeus to help them implement change that will achieve their
objectives of cost-cutting and streamlining, without disruption to
their daily business,” said Brett.
The seminar will cover topics including cost
control solutions for corporate travel, and how travel technology
can enhance efficiency and help increase employee adherence to
travel policies.
“Corporate travel is essential. This is
especially true in Asia, where developing and maintaining
relationships is vital for businesses. Companies with a regional
or global footprint also require considerable executive travel.
Rather than trying to eliminate travel, companies should instead
have long-term plans to restructure their processes in order to
cut costs and manage travel more efficiently,” said Brett.
Derek Seah, General Manager, Amadeus Singapore,
added, “Travel, together with corporate entertainment, is the
second largest controllable expenditure in an organisation after
salaries. The thousands of MNCs that have regional activities in
Singapore also have high levels of international interaction, and
therefore incur significant travel costs. They are very keen to
identify ways to manage this expenditure more effectively and are
increasingly looking to technologies such as Amadeus’ Corporate
Solutions.”
Part of a regional series of events, the Amadeus
Power Breakfast will be held in Singapore on Wednesday, 4 March
2009, between 08:00 - 10:30 am at Ocean 6 of the Pan Pacific
Hotel.
