The 5th Annual Wine & Dine Cruise will set sail from
Bai Chay in Halong Bay, Vietnam, on 30 May 2009.
The black-tie event has become a popular event
within
Vietnam's high-society and expatriate scene, with ambassadors and business people
filling the roster annually.
“It’s a cinematic experience,” said Kurt Walter,
general manager of the Press Club. “To see people in black tie
promenading the decks, with the karsts looming all around and the
immaculate white eminence of the Emeraude as a backdrop, is
stunning. No other word for it.”
Beyond the cruise
itself, the headline event of the outing is a four-course
winemaker’s dinner, hosted by Loire Valley vintner Pascal Jolivet
and held within the limestone grotto of Drum Cave.
After dinner, DJ Bruno pumps up the volume with his unique
blend of jazz, funk and house music.
The $195 per
person fare includes all meals, from breakfast at the Press Club
to lunch and breakfast aboard the Emeraude and the gala banquet in
Drum Cave, as well as select drinks at various occasions
throughout the cruise.
Passengers may also avail
themselves of the Emeraude’s kayaks and other sports equipment. A
morning tai chi class on the vessel’s sundeck is also part of the
all-inclusive package.
The 5th Annual Wine & Dine
Cruise Classic is jointly sponsored by Carlsberg, Johnnie Walker,
the Press Club and the Warehouse.
