Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 21 January 2009

Marriott Rewards members can now redeem points for free nights at 2,900 hotels every day of the year, without any blackout periods.

“Our members have told us that they want to be able to use their points on their terms,” said Ed French, senior vice president, Marriott Rewards. “By eliminating blackout dates, we are giving our members more choice and making it easier for them to travel when and where they want.”

Other changes to the Marriott Rewards program include:

- For every four-night stay redeemed, members will receive a fifth redemption night free for that stay.

- Platinum Elite members’ bonuses will increase from 30 to 50% of the total points earned during their stay.

With the elimination of blackout dates, Marriott Rewards members will have greater access to redemption nights at the company’s brands including Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, TownePlace Suites by Marriott and SpringHill Suites by Marriott.

Marriott Rewards points can be redeemed for hotel stays, frequent flyer miles with 32 airline partners, cruises, car rentals, brand-name merchandise, luggage delivery service and more.
