Relais & Châteaux Asia Pacific has appointed British
sales and marketing specialists LJR Consultancy to promote its exclusive
collection of some of the world’s finest luxury and independent small
properties and gourmet restaurants to the UK and German travel markets.
LJR Consultancy focuses on general positioning in the
marketplace, negotiating and contracting with tour operators,
product training, liaising with luxury travel agents, organising
trade familiarisation trips, hotel launches and representation at
various trade shows.
They are renowned for
promoting small luxury independent properties with a strong
emphasis on fine dining/gourmet.
LJR is headed by
Lisa Rawlings, a former sales and marketing manager at the famous
Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, with extensive experience working with
luxury tour operators and travel agents in the UK.
Established in France in 1954, with 480 members in 56 countries,
Relais & Châteaux is now expanding into the Asia Pacific market.
"South-East Asia and China are priority destinations
in our international development strategy,” said Jaume Tàpies,
President of Relais & Châteaux.
The company is actively seeking to
expand into Asian markets including Hong Kong, admitting
applicants “upholding the spirit and soul” of its mission to
deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Members are
selected through a rigorous procedure involving anonymous
inspections and interviews with owners and general managers. Only
about 10% of candidate properties considered sufficiently unique
are accepted every year.
New members pay an
admission fee and average annual membership of €14,000 – less than
1% of their annual sales revenues.
