The Singapore Tourism Board has launched an online
promotion - Fly on US - which runs until the end of May. The campaign is
one of the initiatives under the recently-launched “2009 Reasons to
enjoy Singapore” marketing campaign.
“Fly on US is one of the initiatives that we are
launching this year to create more excitement and buzz about
Singapore’s unique tourism offerings. It is the first time that we
are leveraging online media in such a big way and we hope this
will help us increase travel mindshare and inspire visitors to
visit Singapore this year,” said Mr Chew Tiong Heng, Director,
Destination Marketing, at the STB. “This promotion ties in nicely
with the trend of increasing number of free independent travellers
(FIT) that we are seeing. These travellers are very
internet-savvy, doing research and making their travel
arrangements online. We expect this promotion to especially appeal
to this segment of travellers.”
In the coming weeks, several of STB’s regional
offices, including Australia, China, Germany, India, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Vietnam and the United Kingdom, will be supporting the
Fly on US campaign with various integrated marketing activities in
their respective markets including advertisements and other
promotional activities.
Participants simply need to log onto
www.visitsingapore.com/FlyonUS to invite their friends and
family on board the virtual Uniquely Singapore flight. Every
2009th qualifying name will automatically win a pair of
complimentary return air tickets to Singapore.
The campaign will also feature a customised
application on Facebook - one of the world’s most popular social
networking portals with a broad global reach.
Overseas friends and family who have been
invited to board the virtual Uniquely Singapore flight stand to
win up to Sin$500,000 worth of air tickets before 31 May 2009.
For the months of March, April and May 2009,
nominating participants also stand to walk away with monthly cash
prizes of Sin$10,000 to be spent in Singapore.
Winners of
air-tickets will be notified within two weeks after qualification.
Cash winners will also be notified within two weeks after the
draw dates which will fall on the seventh or eighth day of the
following month respectively. The first draw will be conducted on
7 or 8 April 2009.
