The InterContinental Singapore has launched a Club
InterContinental upgrade promotion.
Until 31 March 2009, guests who book a signature
Shophouse Room will be able to enjoy complimentary access to the
hotels luxurious Club InterContinental Lounge, inclusive of
buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails from 5.30
p.m. to 7.30 p.m., as well as complimentary wireless internet
access in the Club InterContinental Lounge and personalised
concierge services.
The Shophouse Rooms are modelled after the homes
of old Singapore where families used to live on the upper floors
of their businesses, these rooms blend Chinese art and Malay style
harmoniously to create a unique architectural look.
Featuring spacious layout and generous daylight,
the Club Lounge interior puts strong emphasis on respecting
authenticity. Replete with subtle Peranakan undertones, from
timeless furnishing with elaborate carvings to rich tapestry and
intricate ceramics, the InterContinental Singapore Club Lounge is
one of the few places in the city where guests can immerse
themselves in a bygone era.
Peranakans, a local name used to refer to people
of mixed ethnic origins, are best known for their exceptional arts
and handicrafts, delightful cuisine, colourful traditions and
social practices. Although Peranakans originate from throughout
the region, Singapore offers one of the best places in Southeast
Asia to experience a melting pot of diverse Peranakan cultures.
Access to the Club InterContinental Lounge
normally costs Sin$120++ per night per room. This complimentary
upgrade promotion has limited availability and is subject to
advance reservations and space availability at the time of
booking.
