Lao Plaza Hotel Earns Official 5-Star Rating

The Lao National Tourism Administration under the Prime Minister’s Office, has officially recognized the Lao Plaza Hotel-Vientiane as one of the first 5-star hotels in Lao PDR.

The hotel, which opened in 1997, features 142 rooms and suites, 4 restaurants, a bar and 7 conference rooms including the Vientiane Grand Ballroom which can seat 300 guests.

Mr. Nobuyuki Fukuda, General Manager of the Lao Plaza Hotel, said that much of the hotel’s success was thanks to the loyalty and willingness of his 250 staff who had spent a lot of time and effort improving their guest-service skills. Most of the staff at the hotel have travelled overseas for training, including exposure and hotel inspections in Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
