Frasers Hospitality has officially opened the
Fraser Suites Edinburgh, the group’s second property in Scotland
and its twelfth in Europe.
Located in St Giles Street, just off
the city’s famous Royal Mile, this inner-city property combines
the fully-restored historic façade of a 130-year-old building with
contemporary interiors and services in 75 luxury suites.
Original
features of this Grade B listed building including high
ceilings and ornate cornicing, blend comfortably with
understated elegance, allowing guests to take a step back into
history.
“The experience of developing Fraser Suites Edinburgh
has given us valuable insights into the potential of bringing
these historical buildings back to life for a whole new generation
of business and leisure travellers. They have an experiential
appeal that sets them apart, but at the same time, provide all
the modern conveniences that discerning travellers have come to
expect,” said Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer, Frasers
Hospitality Pte Ltd.
Frasers first marked its presence in
Europe with the opening of Fraser Suites Kensington in 2007.
Today, it owns and manages eight properties in key locations in
London, two in Paris, including one on the Champs Elysees, as
well as Fraser Suites Glasgow.
The opening today of the Fraser
Suites Edinburgh caps a record growth year for the company, opening
740 individual serviced residences in six countries worldwide.
The company also looks set to achieve another record year in 2010,
including a debut in new markets such as India and Budapest and
the opening of properties in the existing markets of Japan and
China.
Currently, Frasers Hospitality’s global footprint
extends across North Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle
East and Australia to close to 5,000 individual residences. And
with another 5,655 residences already on the drawing board, the
company is on course to manage more than 10,600 residences by
the end of 2012.
