Hospitality industry veteran Grant Gaskin, has been
appointed General Manager of the Radisson Hotel Cebu. The hotel, which
is scheduled to open later this year, is the first Radisson Hotels &
Resorts property in the Philippines.
Prior to this latest appointment Gaskin served as managing
director of the Radisson Plaza Xing Guo Hotel Shanghai.
Gaskin, a
native of New Zealand, also served in leadership positions with Pan
Pacific Hotels and Resorts for seven years. He was director,
Special Projects at Pan Pacific Chiang Mai in Thailand, and
general manager at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh where
he spearheaded a US$ 20 million refurbishment programme. He was
also responsible for restructuring the property’s sales and
marketing operations, resulting in a 400% rise in banquet
room business.

introduce the Radisson brand in the Philippines, we
sought a strong leader with proven results and an
excellent track-record. Grant, with over two decades of
experience in all facets of hotel operations and a
background in marketing, will bring strong leadership to
this important project.”
The 400-room hotel will
be located on the cross-roads of Sergio Osmena Boulevard and San
Jose de Montana Boulevard in the city more popularly known as the
“Queen City of the South” for its rich cultural and historical
heritage. Radisson Hotel Cebu will be close to the Central
Business District and New City Centre. The Cebu seaport, one of
the country’s busiest ports, is less than 20 kilometres from the
airport.
The opening of the Radisson Hotel Cebu
will be followed by the Radisson Hotel Manila Bay and The Regent
Manila Bay. All three hotels are owned by Philippine conglomerate,
SM Investments Corporation.
