Air Philippines (AirPhil), the low-cost carrier
of the Lucio Tan Group, is to launch flights to Surigao now it has
turned over its Ozamiz City operations to its sister company,
Philippine Airlines.
AirPhil decided to leave Ozamiz after observing
the city's rapid economic expansion that requires bigger aircraft
to accommodate the growing volume of air travelers and cargo.
With PAL's return to Ozamiz after an absence of 11 years,
travelers can now enjoy PAL's full-service amenities on ground and
onboard its brand-new Airbus A319-100 aircraft. This includes
PAL's Mabuhay class where passengers are served hot
meals during the one-hour-25-minute flight from Manila and vice
versa.
AirPhil will start daily jet services between Manila and Surigao starting July 1, 2009. Flights from
Manila will depart 8:45 am, arriving Surigao at 10:15 am. The
return flight leaves Surigao airport at 10:45 am and lands in
Manila 12:15 pm. AirPhil operates at the new Terminal 3.
