Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resort has
opened an International Sales Office in Dubai. It is the group's
8th globally.
Centara has been actively promoting its brands within the
Middle East region for several years but with a global economic
crisis, health concerns regarding Swine flu and political turmoil
in Thailand it is increasingly seeing the booming region as a key
growth diver for the future.
Commenting on the
development Chris Bailey, Senior vice President Sales & Marketing
said, “Already last year it was quite apparent to us that some
International markets would decline either through concerns for
safety or economic pressures. A world bright spot still seemed to
demonstrate that Middle East was a market worth additional and
strategic support, especially given the increasing air capacity
between the region and Thailand. We are absolutely delighted by
the results coming out of this new dedicated sales resource and
feel we have a huge potential to grow our business during these
challenging times.”
Just today, Emirates Airline launched daily
A380 flights between Bangkok and Dubai. Just this change of
aircraft adds an extra 30% capacity to the route for the rapidly
growing airline.
