The Singapore Tourism Board is now accepting
nominations for its inaugural Singapore Experience Awards.
In the past the STB organised three separate
award events annually to acknowledge individuals and organisations
for their contributions in the tourism industry – the Tourism
Awards, Singapore Business Events Awards and Singapore Education
Awards.
“We reviewed the awards platforms and decided
that though they have served us very well to date, uniting them
would be timely. The intent is to build on the past awards’
strengths and brand equity while allowing for the development of a
stronger recognition platform that carries more value for the
industry as a whole,” said Ms Aw Kah Peng, the STB’s Chief
Executive.
As recipients of the most prestigious award in
Singapore’s tourism industry, winners will be recognised as the
best in their respective fields, providing them with further
motivation to enhance their respective Singapore Experiences.
Individuals and organisations from sectors
encompassing hospitality, retail, dining, entertainment,
attractions, business travel and MICE, education and healthcare
will have to show how they are the best in delivering a holistic
visitor experience – one that packages product and service
delivery to create a distinctive and compelling experience.
“The Singapore Experience is what differentiates
us from other tourism destinations. For visitors to regard
Singapore as a choice destination, individuals and organisations
need to ensure all touch points of the visitor experience work
seamlessly to create a memorable and enjoyable visit,” added Ms
Aw.
Nominations are open for a month, from 15 July
2009 to 15 August 2009.
