Flight Centre founder and managing director
Graham Turner has spread his wings to a new business venture,
launching luxury accommodation brand Spicers Retreats, Hotels and
Lodges.
The first in the range of boutique properties,
Spicers Clovelly Estate, will open in the Sunshine Coast
Hinterland on July 25th with others to follow in South East
Queensland and the Hunter Valley in the near future.
The new range is in addition to Mr Turner’s existing
award-winning retreats, Spicers Peak Lodge on Queensland’s Scenic
Rim and Hidden Vale in South East Queensland Country, which will
continue to be marketed by Peppers.
Mr Turner, who
in conjunction with the Queensland Government has established some
5500 hectares of high conservation land as perpetual nature refuge
surrounding his other Queensland retreats, said he was delighted
to see his dreams for a unique, low impact getaway on the Sunshine
Coast come to fruition.
“We are very excited to be
launching Spicers Retreats, Hotels and Lodges with such a high-calibre
property which epitomises what the new brand is all about,’’ he
said. “We are looking forward to introducing an
intimately unique retreat experience that will bring new business
to the area while being something that locals can enjoy and be
proud of as well.”
Set on nine hectares of lush
country land and within easy reach of the beaches of Noosa and
Mooloolaba and just 90 minutes from Brisbane, Spicers Clovelly
Estate will be one of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s most
luxurious and intimate accommodation experiences.
Comprising just 10 suites to ensure the highest levels of
individual service are maintained, Spicers Clovelly Estate offers
old world charm in a contemporary setting where guests can be
swept away in the romanticism of a European escape.
Guest accommodation combines state of the art fittings such as
huge plasma TV screens and pampering spa baths in select rooms
with modern French furnishings and luxury linens setting new
standards for style and casual elegance for the region.
Spicers Clovelly Estate will also be home to a pampering
day spa and a fine dining restaurant specialising in old-fashioned
service, an innovative four or seven course degustation menu
utilising fresh and simple local ingredients and an extensive wine
list.
Spicers Clovelly Estate is located just five
minutes from the village of Montville regarded as the creative
heart of the Sunshine Coast. The charming township is home to a
range of quality art galleries, craft shops, fashion boutiques,
restaurants and gift shops stocked with affordable, locally made
items.
To celebrate the launch of Spicers Clovelly
Estate, guests can enjoy special opening rates from A$199 per
night for two people including breakfast, valid until 31 October,
2009.
The Sunshine Coast Hinterland will be the
setting for another Spicers property when Spicers Tamarind opens
near Maleny in late 2009.
Others to operate under
the brand will include Spicers Balfour Hotel, Brisbane opening in
spring 2009, Spicers Vineyards Estate in the Hunter Valley wine
country and Spicers Canopy, a luxury safari lodge campsite on
Spicers Peak Station on Queensland’s Scenic Rim.
