EgyptAir and Brussels Airlines are to launch codeshare flights, expanding their
international and domestic destinations as well as enhancing the frequent
flyer benefits offered to customers.
Beginning 12 January 2010, the first phase of the codeshare agreement will allow Brussels Airlines to place its code
on EgyptAir flights linking Brussels with Cairo and Luxor.
Customers of both carriers will be able to acquire and redeem
miles on both frequent flyer programs.
Being the latest member to join Star Alliance,
Brussels Airlines customers will be able to benefit from the
through check-in at Cairo’s Terminal 3.
“Egypt, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the
Belgian leisure market, was so far lacking in the network of
Brussels Airlines,” said Brussels Airlines Executive Vice
President Network Development Erik Follet. “Thanks to this
partnership with EgyptAir we can now offer a perfect travel
solution that also suits the needs of the increasing number of
business travelers. On top of that, we guarantee EgyptAir
customers smooth connections to more than 60 destinations in
Europe and Africa.”
