The Cornell School of Hotel Administration has
named the first three winners of the IDeaS Cornell Revenue
Management Scholarship: Crystal Edwards, assistant revenue manager
at Governor Hotel in Portland, Oregon; Fraser Pearce, revenue
manager at Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; and Alexandre Teixeria, revenue manager at Grand Hyatt Sao Paolo in
Brazil.
A scholarship panel at the school selected the
recipients based on demonstrated excellence in revenue management
and drive to enhance their profession.
The scholarship program, funded by IDeaS Revenue Optimization, provides recipients with paid registration
to five eCornell courses leading to an eCornell Hotel Revenue
Management Certificate.
"We are excited to award the first
round of IDeaS Cornell Revenue Management Scholarships," said Tom
Kline, executive director of executive education at the School of
Hotel Administration. "Thanks to IDeaS, we are able to provide
these hospitality professionals with a truly unique professional
development opportunity."
The
scholarship will be awarded to a total of six hospitality
professionals this calendar year. Applications for the remaining
three scholarship awards are being accepted until Monday, October
19, 2009.
