Minor Hotel Group has appointed Didier Tourneboeuf as
General Manager of the new Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Resort & Spa, Abu
Dhabi.
Didier joins Anantara Qasr Al Sarab from his
position as General Manager of Le Royal Méridien, Abu Dhabi where
he was responsible for a considerable increase of market share
over a two-year period.
Didier, who is a French national, has a very
strong background in hotel openings having worked as part of the
launch teams at Le Meridien hotels in Australia, the US, China,
Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia.
Anantara Qasr Al Sarab, slated to open in late
2009, is located in the
renowned Empty Quarter – a vast expanse of towering sand dunes
stretching from the southern reaches of the kingdom of Saudi
Arabia across into Oman and the UAE. The hotel’s design will
reflect the simple grandeur of an old desert fortress.
Didier is a graduate of the renowned Strasbourg
Hotel School in Switzerland and is married with a grown-up son.
