Estonian Air is to launch flights between
Tallinn and Amsterdam in cooperation with KLM from 7 June 2009.
Amsterdam Schiphol airport is one of the biggest
and liveliest hubs in Europe, offering a wide choice of flights
into the entire world.
Estonian Air will operate flights between
Tallinn and Amsterdam three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays
and Sundays.
Until 7 June 2009, while no direct flights are
operated, Estonian Air offers one-stop flights to Amsterdam
through Copenhagen, Stockholm or Helsinki.
In the first quarter Estonian Air
carried altogether 122,160 passengers, 105,390 of these
on regular flights. The total number of passengers
decreased 24.8% y-o-y, on regular flights 25%, while
Tallinn Airport passenger numbers decreased by 24.5% and
23.1% respectively.
In March 2009 Estonian Air carried
46,874 passengers, 39,925 of these on regular flights.
The total number of passengers decreased 26.5%, on
regular flights 25.7%, while the Tallinn Airport
passenger number decreased by 25.3% and 23.4%
respectively.
In the first quarter the market share
of Estonian Air in the regular flights segment at
Tallinn Airport was 42.3% which is 1 percentage point
lower y-o-y. The total market share (regular and charter
flights) was 40.1%, which is 0.2 percentage points
higher y-o-y.
In March 2009 the market share of
Estonian Air in the regular flights segment at Tallinn
Airport was 43.2%, which is 1.4 percentage points lower
y-o-y. The total market share (regular and charter
flights) was 41.3%, which is 0.3 percentage points lower
y-o-y.
In the first quarter Estonian Air
operated 2,348 flights, which is 20.6% less flights
y-o-y. In March 2009 Estonian Air operated 856 flights,
which is 19.8% less flights y-o-y.
Estonian Air is one of the most
punctual air carriers in Europe. In the first quarter
the regularity of Estonian Air was 98.2 % and the
15-minute punctuality was 90.4%. In March the regularity
and punctuality were 97.8% and 90.3% respectively.
In 2008 the regularity of Estonian Air
was 99% and the 15-minute punctuality was 85.5%.
